Discover the hidden value of social media engagement and how a simple like or share can amplify meaningful initiatives, reminding us to act with genuine intent rather than seeking applause.

Life often throws curveballs when we least expect them, from leaky pipes to malfunctioning appliances. Our episode shares stories of everyday resilience, drawing strength from faith and a positive outlook to conquer these challenges. Explore how familiarity can breed complacency, hindering personal growth and potential recognition. By shedding preconceived notions, we open doors to honor and new opportunities, leading to a deeper understanding of ourselves and those around us.

In times of crisis, small acts of kindness can transform communities. We'll celebrate the spirit of giving through poignant stories of individuals contributing what they can, emphasizing the pivotal role local churches and communities play in extending our mission's reach. From overcoming logistical hurdles in disaster relief to providing quality housing to those in need, our discussions showcase the dedication and collaboration required to uplift those overlooked by traditional aid. As we wrap up, we express heartfelt gratitude for the trust and opportunity to impact positively, encouraging our listeners to contribute generously and prayerfully to the betterment of our communities.

SAMBASSADOR:

back to part two of a two-part episode. Be sure to go back and listen to part one. You might've missed something. Hope you enjoy the conversation today.

SHED GEEK:

You mentioned this on.

SHED GEEK:

Facebook and you got probably 5,000 friends on Facebook, which is the max. When are they going to turn your account into a celebrity account? That's what I want to know. I want one of those little green dots, or whatever you get besides the $3,500.

SAMBASSADOR:

The only reason I want one is so I can help more people.

SHED GEEK:

Yeah, well, you would. But a dollar from every one of those Facebook friends is 5,000. Now start to multiply it. If everybody threw in 10 and everybody threw in 100, how quick could you solve some of these problems? It's really the strength of numbers. But it takes someone to organize Sam, and I know this for a fact. You step out and do anything. We talked about this earlier.

SHED GEEK:

Maybe you weren't overly critical of the podcast, but if you think you're the only one that told me it wouldn't work, or even some of the people since it started said no, I don't like it, won't do it, won't listen to it yeah, got it. You know what I mean. Like I want you to, but I got it. It's not your thing, but imagine if you could, Sam like, if you could get the commitment from those guys to just give and someone's got to do it, and you're gonna have to take the criticism that comes along with it. You don't have time to listen to the naysayers. You know what I mean. You just got to go do it. But man, how great would it be if everyone was in accordance to just hey, I could throw $100 at this, even if I can't give and raise. I don't even know, I'm terrible at math. If you had 5,000 friends that gave $100, how much is that?

SAMBASSADOR:

That's 500 grand, that's a half a million dollars.

SHED GEEK:

Okay, Really simple. These guys are like he's in RTO and he don't know that math.

SAMBASSADOR:

Yep, oh, I know the path.

SHED GEEK:

Half a million dollars, half a million, and you didn't even have to lift a finger. It's $100. You want to save $10,000 in a year. Quit spending $27 a day. That's crazy. Quit spending $27 a day that you're spending in waste. You'll have $10,000 by the end of it. My question is what's $100 in all of that? That's four days that you didn't spend $27 to give to a great cause. You didn't even have to lift a finger, and a half million dollars got directed by people you trust, hopefully. If not, come check us out. If you don't believe it, you know what I mean. I say us like I'm part of it. Sam, I'm not. You're the one doing it.

SAMBASSADOR:

I I'm just saying go, go watch and see oh no, it takes my whole team, um it's, it's definitely not just me. Um the thing that. So, there's two things that I want to address that amaze me about this whole process, of the way I go about doing stuff. Number one is I get more. What's the word I'm looking for? I get more response, and I actually raise more money from people that don't know me as well. I threw a question out. I got. I got way too many private groups. I need to get rid of half of them because it's just it gets. It gets pretty volatile some nights when I throw a question out to all of them, but the other night I threw out. Have you ever heard the phrase um familiarity? Familiarity breeds contempt. You heard that. I have. I dare say familiarity breeds complacency.

SHED GEEK:

Ooh, you're feeding me here. I'm writing stuff down, keep going.

SAMBASSADOR:

Yeah, and the reason I say that is because, okay, I get the first one and there's a fair amount of that that happens, but not near to the extreme as the complacency does. Ah, that's just Sam. He's doing his thing again to the guys that really know me. And then today I get a check from a 90, what was she? 94-year-old grandma Sends me a check for 500 bucks. She's not one of my Facebook friends, she's not even on Facebook and yet she heard about what we're doing and she's like I want to help that guy. He's doing something and so. So that brings up the second part of this question. I'm not this question, this statement that I'm making in the fact that just because I get on there and I shake the bushes doesn't mean that I don't understand that there's people working in other places. I absolutely know there's people. People have all kinds of opportunities to give and to do stuff. That's fine. I understand that.

SAMBASSADOR:

You know how much it costs to share a post Zero, zero. How much does it cost you to hit the like button? How much does it cost you to comment? Good job, nothing, nothing at all. Yeah, and the difference, the difference in exposure. If, if people could understand exposure instead of what they presume to be bragging. It would be huge you're already.

SHED GEEK:

You're already going where I'm going. I wrote it down. You can't see it?

SAMBASSADOR:

No, your filter's getting rid of it. Oh, hold on.

SHED GEEK:

I'm going to tell you what.

SAMBASSADOR:

What's it say?

SHED GEEK:

It's what you always hear and I kind of want to address this because two people come to mind Again. I'm bragging a lot on Dylan tonight, but you and Dylan both Do it for cause and not applause. You always see that on Facebook, right, thank you? And I want to talk about. It's easy, because if you see someone on Facebook, you know you've seen the picture going around. You help a family, give them a sack of groceries. You ain't got to take a selfie and a picture saying, hey, I'm out here helping, fine, I get it.

SHED GEEK:

You know those who seek the reward here on earth have it. It's not stored as a treasure in heaven. I get it, and I'm misquoting that terribly, but I'll tell you. Can you imagine the person who was encouraged to give because they saw a story of how much it was helping out? And this has taken a while to bend my mindset around this, because I used to be a oh, I don't know. It seems like this guy's just doing it for the loves, doing it for the attention. Listen, no one picks a chainsaw up for eight days, 12 days, 30 days, because it's just that's just a glutton for punishment yeah, yeah, there's a lot easier ways to get attention.

SHED GEEK:

You know what I mean, um, but you know, I just want to point out you know Dylan used to do this and, like I said, I'm bragging him up, so we're gonna, we're gonna, we're gonna have to get him a bigger hat too, but I'll get him one. Yeah, he used to. He used to do this thing where he would give a hundred dollars away as a tip and he'd record it and I used to not like it, I was like I don't know, I don't know the way that looks, but seeing the look on their faces and how happy those people are and how unexpected they were, and hearing the stories about how others would go and pay it forward to do something kind that day, you would have eliminated that opportunity by not doing that. And if you just look at it as a look at me, look at me, you know it doesn't matter if it's increasing your personal brand, and I don't. I don't think that you're doing it for that reason whatsoever. You always point towards Jesus and everything that you do, Sam it's. It takes a while to get over that mindset of like.

SHED GEEK:

Had we not shown this, had we not had exposure to what we're doing, whether it be a nice little video campaign that kind of showed what we're doing, or pictures or testimonials from people coming in. You know you should. You should get a couple of these folks on Mike, who are willing to come on and tell their story. How good of a podcast would it be when you find the story of how to help someone out had you not going? Yep, you get them on a podcast. You know, if they want to be, if they don't want to be, don't expose that. That's fine. Maybe they feel vulnerable and you want to respect that. But for the ones who are like, no, I want to tell the world because it good begets good, it encourages us to go out and do that and there is no way I can deny that.

SHED GEEK:

Deep down in watching you do some of this stuff, I was like he'll never make it to 100. You talk about the podcast to never work. You think I once or twice read your postman like a hundred sheds, a hundred sheds, you know. And then the next thing you know they're like here we're putting this one up, so 14 by 28 gonna cost eleven thousand dollars because the guys discounted it. I need something and a guy jumps on and says I gave you a thousand. Hey, I'll give you another thousand. Hey, I'll give you that. Hey, we only need 3000 to go. I'll give you the 3000. Here's another one. Hey, here's a thousand from some. And I'm sitting there going are you kidding?

SHED GEEK:

me. Like you know, you're getting goosebumps, you're getting spirit bumps, right You're I gotta give, I gotta give I could. You know this is amazing. I can't believe the momentum this is taking off. Next thing, you know, you're going to be in a Thomas the doubter to.

SAMBASSADOR:

I want in yeah, I heard that oh that's exactly right.

SHED GEEK:

It's gonna bless, to bless these people. Surely you know what I mean. Next thing you know you're going, you know I can't believe. And then I want to address something else you said.

SAMBASSADOR:

Don't let me forget the blessing part. I got something I want to talk about.

SHED GEEK:

I got this wrote down, so go ahead and talk about it.

SAMBASSADOR:

Oh, you do. Okay.

SAMBASSADOR:

So, I've been stewing this the last couple of days. Oh, this is going to throw us all in the left field. I got my bottle of water, let's go. I can't tell you how many people have told me in the last month. May the Lord bless you richly. I'm here to tell you it doesn't work that way. I've had. All I did was make the devil mad.

SAMBASSADOR:

The past week our personal family has been through hell Excuse my French and for some reason it's all tied to water, because I'm working with water up there and I think there's a spiritual connection there. But I'm not going to go too deep into that right now and if somebody wants to make an argument with me I'll listen. But the reason I think it's attached to water is because we're fighting for flood victims up there. So, the first thing that happened was I've known for a couple months already that my well is cycling about every 30 seconds, and out of sight, out of mind, is a pretty good philosophy for me until I hooked my generator up to it.

SAMBASSADOR:

And now my generator surges every 30 seconds because I'm out of power, because the hurricane took all our power, and for eight days I have to listen to this generator 24-7 surge every 30 seconds, and it'll drive you crazy after a while. But I was too busy cutting up trees to worry about what's going on with my well and I'm like you know what. It'll be all right, I'll deal with it later. But we got to get this fixed. And then one night my wife comes into the bedroom and I mean I could tell she was going to tell me something that she did not want to tell me. And she goes there's a leak behind the washing machine and I'm either in bed or I'm getting ready to go to bed and I'm wore, slap out.

SHED GEEK:

As is the time that you will always get a leak in your washing machine.

SAMBASSADOR:

Yeah, so I go out there, pull the washing machine out and I realize that she has discovered a leak that's probably been going on ever since the hurricane started. This wasn't a leak that just started that day. It just happened to so be. That's the day it started running out from under the washing machine. It's been leaking a long time. You go look at my pictures. It's been at it a while.

SAMBASSADOR:

So now I got to pull my whole laundry room apart late at night, got to open it up, figure out what's going on, find where the leaks coming from, where all is the water going. So, the next morning I'm having to deal with that, get it all tore out and stuff. And now we got to get the mold guy in. And I'm like we get a mold guy in, I know we got mold. He's going to automatically say we got mold. You know, just let me cut it all out and get it out of here. Well, we get the mold guy in. Sure, we got mold. You know, um, two days, no, the next day, after the mold guy told me what he's gonna, what it's gonna cost me, and I have mold, the next day my water heater goes out. Um, and now, since I've got the washing machine out and I cut the floor open.

SAMBASSADOR:

There I can really hear my pump surging. So I start playing around with that. I'm trying to figure out. We turn off the water. Aaron's a champ, he helps, he's under the house, he's cutting this water off. Cutting that water off. Pump keep surging, pump keep surging. We end up all the way out right beside the pump. Turn the water off to where there's nothing left but the pump and it's still surging. So now I've got a bad well tank and I've got a bad what do you call it? I'm just completely the little flapper thing that's supposed to hold the water up and not let it drain back down.

SAMBASSADOR:

Let's go with the little flapper thing. I like that. Yeah, I'll. Just, it's like a one-way valve, I'll google it water out but then holds it from draining back in. So there goes another. There goes another thousand bucks, spend a thousand bucks on the water heater, spend a 1600 bucks on the bowl guy and I got all this stuff piling up. And in the middle of all that I remember sitting there I'm getting somewhere with this.

SAMBASSADOR:

You just got to give me a minute okay I remember sitting there thinking where the heck is all this lord bless you coming from? Because this ain't it, this is straight up the devil. And I'm like, okay, that's enough of that. I'm like devil, you can go kick rocks out in the parking lot or somewhere, because you're not messing with my house anymore, because I recognize where this is coming from and I'm gonna praise the lord anyway and I'm gonna keep on working anyway. Um, I'm just here to tell you when you stick your neck out, you're going to get chopped off it happens all the time.

SAMBASSADOR:

Alright, now you can go with yours. You wrote yours down. You said earlier.

SHED GEEK:

Familiarity breeds complacency. Well, that's just Sam doing his thing, and I think it's one of my favorite messages I've ever heard preached and, if I got the verse right, I think it's one of my favorite messages I've ever heard preached. And if I got the verse right, I believe it's Mark, chapter six, verse two, where it says no man is without honor except in his hometown, among his family and his friends. I'm reminded of the message that Jesus's brother didn't believe he was the Messiah, and I'm not calling you the Messiah here. What I'm saying.

SHED GEEK:

Yeah, oh, no, yeah, let's get that out of the way right now, but it happened to him. What I'm saying is yeah, if it happened to Jesus, it can happen to any of us, and that familiarity can breed complacency in the sense that people won't ever see anything else. You know a troubled kid.

SAMBASSADOR:

Yeah.

SHED GEEK:

I, you know. I remember back when he was busting windows or doing donuts in the parking lot. Ain't there been no good? Ain't no good now? Oh, I know the family comes from apple fault. Don't fall far from the tree we've all heard those a lot of biblical stories that would show the opposite.

SHED GEEK:

what I'm saying is people will get that preconceived notion in there and they won't allow that ministry to breathe. They won't allow you to breathe. That's just you doing the same old doing his thing, Sam. We're even guilty of it, I guarantee me, and you've made the comment a time or two about somebody.

SAMBASSADOR:

Oh yeah absolutely.

SHED GEEK:

We're not perfect. But in the spiritual world, whenever you really, you know, get in touch with the Holy Spirit and he convicts you on that and you know, it's easy for people to believe. That's why a lot of people like to go to new places. They like to move because they can reinvent their self and they don't come with all these preconceived notions of their last name or their past, because they've got honor. No man is without honor except among his family and friends. They get honor among a new crowd.

SHED GEEK:

Shannon Latham is a lot of things to a lot of people, but I've gotten so many compliments since doing this podcast of people who might think something of me. But it's as I always talk about the Philip Yancey book Prayers, and Do they Make Any Difference? The passage in there about Haddon Robinson, who was a pastor who said every time he goes to speak, he says Lord, thank you for the opportunity to preach, because if these people knew about me what you knew about me, they wouldn't listen to a word. I'm about to say Amen. So, thank you, jet Industry, for giving any of us a platform to get up here, because don't me or Sam or nobody else on these platforms deserve it. Oh yeah.

SHED GEEK:

No, sometimes we're chosen to do it, but we try to do it obediently, regardless. And that's hard. That's hard, Sam, some days, because you got to put yourself out there and you will get burned. You won't just get burned from people's opinions, you'll get burned from people, financially, spiritually, emotionally, physically. Yeah, you'll be burned.

SAMBASSADOR:

And anybody. You know, when we started the Brotherhood we actually talked about that. There was quite a few people that made the comment you know what, if somebody abuses this and I don't nobody ever said they didn't like my answer. I'm sure some of them didn't, but my answer always was that's not my problem. The Lord doesn't require me to hold people accountable that he asked me to help.

SHED GEEK:

yeah, my job is to help them it was like giving out those, uh, those generators. Well, what? Oh yeah it just turns around and takes it and sells it yeah, we had people ask us that before they would donate yeah, we're like.

SHED GEEK:

Well, we'll you given $5 to a homeless person? One of the most memorable things I think I ever did was get stopped and give $5 to a guy who was most likely, from what I could tell was a, was an alcoholic on one Sunday morning before church and my kids saw me do it and they don't remember what he did with it. Don't remember the guy that. Just remember that dad gave it and they still talk about it yeah, from time to time really I was just giving it.

SHED GEEK:

I wasn't supposed to hold him accountable for what he did and I'm not going to chase him around, you know, making sure that because I wasn't called to do that. I was called to give him five bucks. That's what I had on me, yeah, and sometimes that's what God wants. It's all. All I got is five dollars. I ain't going to help him Back to your clam story.

SHED GEEK:

It's only just five bucks. That's all I want. All I want is everything in your wallet. I want to give you a message before we go further. I want to give you a message of encouragement. You were talking about fighting and water and your well and how it all ties back to water. Another one of my favorite messages was once whenever I heard a pastor say preach the message and said you know when you're drowning, you know you're going to take how many breaths in your lifetime. Who knows, who knows? You'd have to count them. How many breaths have we taken sitting here doing this podcast?

SHED GEEK:

But when you're underwater, when you're underwater and when you're drowning. How many breaths do you want? You just need one.

SAMBASSADOR:

Yep.

SHED GEEK:

Oh, you need one, lord. Give me just one. Just allow me to breathe, because right now I can't breathe. I've been without a breath for 30 seconds and I just need one. You're not worried about living to 90. You're not worried about everything else, lord. And if anyone's ever been there, you know the Psalms talks about it. You know, lord, my pillow is damp. It is wet from my tears. Yep, you know, I've cried all night. I just need a break. And here a guy is sitting over here with a generator that won't give it away because of what it might cost him. I'm not trying to make anybody feel bad. I'm no televangelist here. Okay, I'm not. That's not what I'm trying to do. But I do want you to know you give when you're sensitive to the Holy Spirit and what your desire is to give. And I don't think he sits back and says you know you give $10 and you'll be rewarded.

SHED GEEK:

Man. One of my favorite stories is when Deanna was going through cancer and I don't want to tear up so I'm trying to be careful here. We did a GoFundMe and a teenage girl that worked at a pizza shop with my daughter gave on that GoFundMe account $10. She texted my daughter and said I'm sorry, it's all I have to give.

SAMBASSADOR:

Oh, my word. I know exactly what you're saying. I know exactly.

SHED GEEK:

I'm sure my daughter remembers her oh yeah and all I want to do is give that girl anything she could possibly want yep if it was financially anything that I could help her with Sam.

SHED GEEK:

it was so encouraging. It wasn't the $500, it wasn't the $1000 financially anything that I could help her with Sam. It was so encouraging it wasn't the $500. It wasn't the $1,000. I'm not trying to pick on anybody who gave that. We appreciate you. We did. It means so much. It was the $10 of the teenage girl who got the message. It's all I can give. I can't really afford to give any more than that right now. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. It's all I can do.

SAMBASSADOR:

If that doesn't, yeah, I made a post about that the other day, about the fact I highly appreciate and value my guys, that I've got that can drop the big money.

SHED GEEK:

Yeah.

SAMBASSADOR:

And I feel, I feel like I feel like I've earned their trust in being able to do that and that's why they do it so freely and easily. They're good guys to start with and then, when the Lord gets a hold of them, it's over with anyway. But the underlying, completely amazing thing is the single lady that gives me 25 bucks and she goes that's all I have. As soon as I get more, I'll give more that dude. Then those things will break you oh they.

SHED GEEK:

You know, that's, that's, that's ministry. Sam, you're in the, you're in the heart of it. In my opinion, whenever you're doing that, you're not talking about and Facebook and it and all that. It's, it's, it's, it's the real deal. What, what message do you want to give? A? It's your podcast. You tell it the way you want. I don't even know how long this thing's gone. We might be in two parts. We might have to leave a cliffhanger and get somebody on for the second week to find out more about it. You've got an organization that can take donations, can take money. Tell me about it. How do you want to go about it? We can set up links. We can put all that in the newsletter. You can go give from there. What, what, whatever, what, or, or. Take this wherever you want. I'm sorry, I'm so used to hosting you. This is your show. What do you want to?

SAMBASSADOR:

do, it's fine. So, when the two of us do it, we can end it however we want to, or to say whatever, however we want it to go, um. So the amazing thing to me has been the churches that have came on board, um, with the fact of is there anything we can do to help um, the, the, the local people? I'll just I know I brag about them all the time and I'm using them again, but this is just an example of what I'm talking about. When you got two amish boys up there that are running a shed shop and they're like, hey, you know what? We're not going to build you 10 sheds at cost, we're going to raise the money locally and with the shed community and we're going to take care of it ourselves. Um, and they spread the word, they're local. That's when it gets big, when guys step up and push it to their local audiences. So, my sister did that in Ohio and she got her church on board and now my sister can use her church. So, if anybody wants to send money into her to help them, get down here to give money to people while they're here to help support us or whatever, they can use their church If anybody wants a legit opportunity on how to give, instead of just giving to an individual or whatever. We have multiple churches that now have stepped up and said they'll work in partnership with us. So, it doesn't even have to go through the Brotherhood anymore. It can go through their local churches. Their local churches will cut checks back to us. There's networking and multiplying. The seed is tremendous is tremendous, um, because every time one of those communities gets on board, there's just that many more people that buy into it take ownership of it, and it's way beyond anything I can do. Um, so that's the first thing I want to say. Is you know wherever you're at, um, if you're listening, if you're on YouTube or whatever you're doing, or if you follow me on Facebook, um, the fact that I don't care if you're a sole single person in the state of Washington or in Michigan or where you're at, you have a local community that you can depend on, that is willing and able to help you, help us. That's huge.

SAMBASSADOR:

Outside of that, we have just about yeah, it takes money to operate these things. It takes money to move sheds. It takes money to get the sheds here. It takes money to get them set up. It takes money to put heaters in them, insulate them, wire them, whatever we're doing. All of that stuff takes money. Whatever we're doing, all of that stuff takes money. I'm more than happy to figure out a way to get it here, whether that's working through your church, whether that's using our website, shbrotherhood. org. Forward slash, donate you can use that. We have Cash App, venmo, paypal. We have all that stuff. So, it's all there, it's all available. Um, we've actually got zelle too. Nobody's actually asked about it this time. Um, so whatever, yeah, whatever needs is there and, like I tell everybody, come, come see it firsthand for yourself, hear the stories, because no camera, no pictures, no drone footage even comes close to showing you. I've worked tons of disasters. I've never seen nothing like this, nothing.

SHED GEEK:

We were down in Valdosta this weekend cause we're after the Southeast uh barbecue. We went down to Valdosta and, um, yeah, good luck getting a hotel in a hundred mile radius. That's not $250 a night. Uh, you know, there's so many linemen down there, uh, helping out and I was really surprised for as much damage as there was, and there was quite a bit, you know, uh, we got a great interview and it was just it was, it was, it was good man, it was just so surprising and how that that far inland in North Carolina, the damage that would come. And it wasn't just from Helene, it was, you know, I mean, it was Helene. What I'm saying is it was. It wasn't just from Helene, it was, you know, I mean, it was Helene. What I'm saying is it was. It wasn't that even that direct wind, it was the amount of rainfall that it dumped on it into those big valleys and just the, the disaster, the way you saw the things being washed out, was just it's, it's, it's unreal.

SAMBASSADOR:

Uh, yeah, you know, I had I had an old mountain man tell me yesterday I thought it was pretty cool His theory on what created these huge avalanches and mudslides and stuff. They had a tremendous amount of rain and then Thursday evening and into Friday morning it really dumped. And then when the winds came through, the winds were actually harder than what I believe they were and when they started knocking trees over up there at the top of the mountains it started uprooting dirt and the dirt was so loose, with the trees not there to hold it anymore, that the trees, the dirt, the rocks, everything just starts sliding off the hill. And that's what it's. The last count I heard it's over 1800 mudslides, avalanches, whatever you want to call them. There's over 1800 of them that happened up there in those mountains and that just seems like a crazy amount. Until you go up and you go through one valley, yeah, and you see the dozens that happen in one valley and you're like this is everywhere, like this, you know you just didn't hear about this.

SHED GEEK:

Like growing up I was like as the crow flies. You know that if that would have projected, you know, several hundred miles left, it would have come as far north as we are in the first oh absolutely, absolutely it's wild.

SHED GEEK:

You know, like we, we just, you know, growing up you didn't worry about stuff like that. You, you worry about tornadoes around here, but you know earthquakes, you know, but not. Um, yeah, not. Yeah, it's a hurricane, so it's just, it's a disaster. You know, I, you know. I lost count on how many they said are misplaced or perished uh, but it's you.

SAMBASSADOR:

You know, I'm here for the ones that are left.

SHED GEEK:

Yeah, it's neat to see that people are putting these efforts together and I applaud you publicly for all that you and others are doing. I appreciate you picking up the torch and saying send me Lord, send me being a willing vessel. We need more of that and, as a preacher would say, I find myself preaching to myself this message as I share it to others. But yeah, if we can use the podcast as a platform, we'll definitely be happy to put links into the newsletter. Be happy to put links into the newsletter where you can go. If you have any pictures, feel free to send them or try to include them in the episode or create a picture file where people can go and see. We're happy to help in whatever way and capacity that we can. And remember, like we talked about in Mayfield, it's not even the help now. Now it's the help a year from now that these people are going to need and two years yeah, we've seen how that's worked in Katrina, Alabama, Mayfield.

SAMBASSADOR:

You come back three years later, it's. It's amazing how much is still left that could be done yeah, yeah, yeah, these, these, yeah.

SAMBASSADOR:

There's people's lives there that are, that are yeah yeah, I will say this um, it has totally shocked me at how much has been done up there. Um, I've never I don't think I've ever seen any of them where it seemed like I know it's been five weeks. It seems like it's been forever some days and there's still a lot of areas that there's a ton of work to do. But if you look at the half full cup instead of the half empty cup, it is amazing to see the amount of sheer manpower work that has been done. It's incredible what has been done.

SHED GEEK:

Is there, and I'm just asking this. I'm curious for those you know whether it's skeptic, minded or whatever you want to call it what has sort of been like the qualifying process if it exists at all for, like, who's getting these structures and things like that? Have you guys kind of put together some, some ideas there? Who, who, who are these going to kind of put together?

SAMBASSADOR:

some ideas there. Who are these going to? So, for me personally, I'm always trying to find the ones that get ignored. So, in Kentucky, you know, we didn't end up. We did a lot of work in Mayfield, but 90% of our work was done in areas that weren't getting the publicity. They weren't getting the volunteers as much.

SAMBASSADOR:

I don't. I don't like to be tied up where everybody else is. I want to be out there in the, in the bushes and in the, the outreaches, you know, and working with those people. So that's, that's following a little bit where we're at right now. But I'll be honest with you. I've got a couple, I've got a couple bloodhounds out there that, uh, they, they need, uh, they need shout outs of their own, um, uh, people that are out there listening every day, following some of the pages better than even I do, um. But at the end of the day, we're just doing what I've always said I do in business, what I do in life. We're finding a need and meeting it, and this just happens to be the ones that FEMA didn't approve.

SAMBASSADOR:

You know they were renting houses. They didn't own houses. They owned houses, but they're not. You know the house wasn't worth nothing in the first place. So, they're not getting much at all for that. Or they were already living in a tiny house, in what they call yurts. It's amazing how many people had yurts up there along the river and they're all gone tiny houses that are gone For the majority of the part. We're working at the bottom of the list. I'm not saying I won't work with the top of the list. I don't care, it doesn't matter to me. You know. You said it best earlier. We don't ask questions, we don't have a contract. Um, we give with open hands, um, we don't expect anything back and at the end of the day, that's what I'm called to do and that's the way I'm going to do it.

SHED GEEK:

I've seen it firsthand. I've just seen the guys walk up to you and just hand you checks and you know, just pledge towards what you're doing when you build trust. That's who people want to work with and you know I, you know, and this is no shot towards FEMA, but people tend to trust individuals. Oh yeah, and the thing is, who can tell you can't help? Who can tell you that you can't help? So just start with helping. I do.

SAMBASSADOR:

I do. I do want to say one thing about help up there we take we as an organization and we as a group of people, the ones that are working with me or whatever we take pride in what we do. I'm not going to put anything out there, and this, this is for whoever decides, whoever starts listening to it and decides to let people know what we're doing. I've seen some stuff up there the last two weeks that's been really disappointing to me. Just because you're trying to get them out of a tent into something better doesn't mean that you should build something that I wouldn't put my dog in. And I'm not trying to knock people that are doing stuff. I'm just saying a little bit of organization and a little bit of no.

SAMBASSADOR:

I think what I'm looking for. Ok, so I used to build houses. It's not like we're throwing and we all of us guys that are taking sheds in there we deliver sheds, we build sheds. It's what we do. We're not plumbers doing this.

SAMBASSADOR:

It's been a little disappointing to see some of the stuff that's been thrown out there here. Use this, this is better than a tent. And I'm like well, not really. I mean, the cracks are big enough. They're going to let just as much wind in if you don't insulate it. Well, they're not insulated. They're not wired. They're dropping them off by the six and seven at a time.

SAMBASSADOR:

Wired, they're, they're. They're dropping them off by the six and seven at a time, and they don't even have doors in them. It's just a box with a shingle roof on it, and I'm not gonna be that guy. Um, we're, we're there to help people, but I want something that when they come home from work or whatever they're doing, when they come home, they're happy. It's something that brings them joy. So that's what you're going to get. That's my commitment to you, is my commitment of excellence in the fact that we're going to set it up right. It's not going to wobble around, it's not just going to be dropped on the ground, and it'll be something that you can be proud of.

SHED GEEK:

Yeah, yeah, I admire what you do, not just you, but all those that have given, all those that are organizing, all those that are working. I mean, it's a big ask, I don't care what anybody says 100 sheds, anyone who can organize the, the you know, and get them delivered, get them sold, get them donated, whatever it looks like. Whatever, however, the help shows up, to get 100. And if it doesn't stop there, well then, God bless you, Just go to 200. What can I say? I stand to make.

SAMBASSADOR:

Yeah, I don't know where it's going to end, I don't care.

SHED GEEK:

You know, be able to look back and say, look at what God did. It's you know, okay.

SAMBASSADOR:

So, on the other side of that, if it ends at 60 sheds, I'm perfectly fine with that. You know how it was in Kentucky. All of a sudden one week I was done and I was like you know what it's time to go home. Let's all go home, um, and if that ends up being less than 100 sheds, it won't bother me in the least. I'm not gonna feel like any of us failed. Nobody, nobody failed me. We did what we were supposed to do, completely happy.

SHED GEEK:

Well, maybe we're trying to get this out as quick as we can. I think we've got your Friday show scheduled, so hopefully I don't know sometime mid-November, a week from.

SAMBASSADOR:

Yeah.

SHED GEEK:

I hope so. A week from Friday. This is election day, so a week from Friday, get it out there. I'd really like to get it all in one episode, just because it'll get everything. And if they want to give, they can. If they want to call you, we'll put your phone number out there. We'll put your email out there. You can always go to. I know for a fact, you can go to Sam@ shedgeek. com and reach him. He's got other ways to reach him.

SAMBASSADOR:

The only bone I got to pick with him is that he don't have a voicemail. It wouldn't do any good. It'd be full by lunch.

SHED GEEK:

Yeah, I hear you.

SAMBASSADOR:

Yeah, it's, oh, it's been brutal again the last couple of weeks. All I ask is that you do is that you text me first, so you're not one of them brokers trying to sell me more freight loads that I don't need right now, because those guys have come out of the last month too well, I appreciate what you do and if we can use the platform to help connect, if it's if one shed gets donated, paid, whatever it looks like, oh yeah, every shed counts.

SHED GEEK:

Yeah, A hundred sheds is a lofty goal. When you told me about it I was like man, he ain't done yet. There's going to be another something come along and you just keep pushing yourself. But you know what? Store up those treasures in heaven, my friend, and keep doing what you're doing. I'm proud to watch it come together, Thankful for all those that gave, and I just I think it's awesome that people were called to help each other.

SAMBASSADOR:

Yep, all right, so I opened it, so I'm gonna let you close it.

SHED GEEK:

Man, you want me closing prayer or what do you? What do you got in mind? Because, uh, whatever you're good with, I think, uh, yeah, I think let's close it in prayer. I've always been, uh, figuring prayer that it makes a difference. I hope that it encourages people in their day, thankful, thankful to know you as a friend. Like I said I can't say it enough we're going to have to figure out how we're going to do this. This is long. We're putting this out in two episodes. I want people to give. It makes me want to get it out in one, but there's enough content here that I don't want people to feel like 30, 45 minutes, I don't need to listen for an hour and a half to get to somewhere.

SAMBASSADOR:

So what do you say? You'll figure it out.

SHED GEEK:

Figure it out. I'll probably put it in Deanna's hands, because she's so much better at making decisions.

SHED GEEK:

There, you go, let her handle it. Yeah, let's pray, yep, lord, thank you, thank you for this day, thank you for this message, this platform that you've given us, the opportunity to reach people through conversation. We'd ask that you would bless not only the path forward, but touch the hearts of those who listened today and if, for some reason, they feel obligated to help in some way, whether it's giving of their time, their resources, their money, um, just know that we would ask that you would bless them for, uh, their faith and their obedience, and in giving that, it will go to help out others, um, others. We thank you for giving us the courage to step up, any of us that step up and give of our time and resources and our finances, and we're thankful that you give it to us to be able to give, lord, that it's not ours, that it's yours to begin with. So we thank you for trusting us with it.

SHED GEEK:

God, I'd ask that you'd be with those in all those areas affected, from Florida to Georgia, south Carolina, north Carolina, Tennessee, that you'd just bless them, give them encouragement whenever they don't see light at the end of the tunnel, give them the faith to sustain, give them peace whenever they don't know peace, because their father's trying to provide for their families, their mother's trying to comfort their young ones and give those workers that are going out trying to do things to help get life a little bit back to normal. Just give them the peace that only you can provide. Be with Sam. Be with him and all of those who continue to give of their time and dedicate their efforts toward building your kingdom and just trying to be a better neighbor, just trying to be kind and make the world a little better place.

SHED GEEK:

We'd ask that you'd continue to give us opportunity to bless those that bless us through listening. It always amazes me that you'd give us trust a couple of guys like me and Sam with this kind of platform. So it means so much Thank you and in Jesus name, amen, amen.
